Blog 4 - Education
Hi dear reader!
Today, I will
tell you about the harms and benefit of the elite superior education in Chile
from a critical perspective.
On the one
hand, the benefits of the elite education are limited to the technological
capabilities they can deliver to their students. We can see all of elite
universities of Chile and we can notice that, in those, the best technologies
in the country are found in academic fields that deliver.
Another point
is its infrastructure that stands out above the majority of public or not so
"prestigious and elite" universities. It is common to see that
in elite universities, the field, classrooms, the casino, etc., have optimal
and good quality buildings capable of meeting most of the needs of those
willing to pay for an elite university.
On the contrary,
the list of disadvantages is more extensive than the previous one. First, if we
consider that its accessibility proposes segregation for the Chilean
population, we will begin by highlighting an important disadvantage, since not
all the population has the same resources as to access an elite education. Why
can't we all have an education of "quality"? Why are some better
prepared to access this education? What does not allow all people to enter and
not just a smaller group?
They watch over an elite education that seeks to train integral and capable people to live the world, but on the other hand they close the doors to people who do not have the means to pay. They deny a basic and fundamental right for every society.

I very much agree with you, although the criticisms you make can be applied to the entire Chilean educational system.
